The University of Missouri- Saint Louis campus has a surprising number of places to find art, from the works of art-major students to photo galleries to history and art exhibits to works by world-class professional artists.

If a student is feeling stressed, a surprisingly good way to relax is to take an "art break," by visiting a campus art gallery and just take a moment to really look at the art works. It takes you to another mental place and clears the head like nothing else.

And it is free, because the galleries are free of charge.

There are several galleries on campus, including Gallery 210, a professional gallery near the Millennium Student Center, Gallery Visio, the student-run gallery in the MSC, the Mercantile Library gallery, in the lower level of the campus library. Other galleries are Gallery FAB, a display of student and faculty art in the long hall of the Fine Arts Building and the Public Policy Research Center's photo gallery, in the SSB building

Both Gallery 210 and Visio have announced their exhibits for the 2009-2010 season, so here is a peek at some of those exhibits.

Of the several galleries on campus, the one with the biggest profile is Gallery 210. The gallery is located in its own building, north of the Millennium Student Center and near the Touhill, MetroLink station and campus police building.

This gallery displays a variety of art media, including painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed media, often works by nationally or internationally noted artists.
